Software Engineer - Networking
Delft Networks is a young, full-stack quantum networking company on a mission to connect the world in the quantum age. We are searching for a software engineer with a strong networking background to help design and implement the software stack for quantum networks based on quantum entanglement. This role is central to developing and refining quantum network protocols and architectures that will power the quantum internet.
In this role, the new team member will:
Design, implement, and test the software stack for quantum networks based on quantum entanglement.
Develop and refine pre-standard quantum network protocols.
Architect the networking stack using Software-Defined Networking (SDN) principles.
Collaborate with research institutes to co-design and validate hardware/software integration.
Act as the networking expert within the team and liaise with other teams and collaborators.
Communicate network architecture decisions and considerations to internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate profile
A successful candidate will join a dynamic and growing team at Delft Networks. They should be comfortable both working independently and collaboratively, primarily on-site at our location in Delft.
We welcome candidates with:
Proficiency in Python for tooling, testing, and integration scripting.
Experience in C/C++ for embedded systems (bare-metal or RTOS).
Hands-on experience writing and maintaining firmware for microcontrollers, SoCs, and/or FPGAs.
Strong understanding of system-level integration from electronics to firmware to application software.
Comfort using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
Skill in reading datasheets and working within hardware constraints.
Ability to maintain a system-level perspective while executing immediate priorities.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment.
